the hotel was truly exceptional and clean, overlooked mountain. the property had a very very good breakfast with a huge variety of items to choose from. the location offered was handy very close to the beer garden and the public areas. also, such main attraction as a grade ii listed two - storey villa was 1 mile from this hotel. i had a very enjoyable stay in a long time.

Charming stay with fine views
The restaurant was a standout, serving delicious and locally sourced dishes, and the breakfast was particularly superb with options that clearly showcased quality ingredients. The staff were warm, even arranging a lovely bouquet for our celebration. One aspect that could be improved would be the noise from the nearby road, a bit disruptive at times.

The location was great with good parking n lovely views. Waking up to the sounds of lambs was so charmn. The staff, especially the italian cook/waiter, were really polite n friendly. The room was super clean n comfy too, perfect for a family brek. Def recommend for a cozy getaway!
The only downside was the road noise early in the morning which kinda woke us up. Could use a few more hooks for wet towels in the room.

I stayed at the Traveller'S Rest for one night and really loved the charming decor throughout the inn. The lounge areas were comfortable and perfect. My room was spacious with fine views. The bed felt super cozy. Waking up to the peaceful sounds of sheep outside was a unique touch. The staff were polite and attentive, especially the Italian cook, who added a lovely personal touch. Breakfast was freshly made and delicious, setting a positive tone for the day. I experienced some road noise in the early morning, a bit disruptive. I felt there could be a few more hooks for drying wet towels in the room. Nevertheless, these minor inconveniences didn't overshadow my overall impression of this cozy getaway.

The food was a real highlight-fresh-cracked eggs and scrumptious dishes that only add to Grasmere's charm. Plus, our King Room was lovely with character galore! The lounge area was perfect for a quiet cuppa after a day out.
While we loved the stay, a bit more choice on the menu would've spiced things up, and a clean window wouldn't hurt either-what a view if only the glass was clearer!

It was just a solid selection for strolling around in Grasmere with very nice value for money. The walls were a bit thin, but we still had an amazing stay overall. Consider bringing earplugs for a more restful night.
